![]() I have tried CAIs, dual exhausts, throttle body spacers, etc and nothing comes close to waking up the Jeep's true potential like this tuner has for me. What I AM saying is that the Superchips Flashpaq 91 tune/91 E0 gas combo is giving me that extra pizzazz I have been looking for since I started looking for extra power way back in 2010. I am not saying I am getting near the performance as either a supercharger or a hemi would provide. Please understand, however that I am not peeling the tires off the rims or anything like that. I am extremely happy with the way my JKU runs and drives now and I am no longer looking for a few extra ponies as this tuner/gas combo is doing the trick for me. So, off to Pynergy I drove and filled up with that gas and have been running it ever since. Okay, this is what I am talking about!!! My Jeep came alive with this gas and this tune!! I ran a few more tanks of the same gas until I heard that there was a station in Littleton that carried 91 Octane E0 gas. I filled up with 91 Octane E10 premium gas from Shell and drove home to switch to the 91 tune. To finally find a product that actually makes a difference is pretty cool. I have learned that neither a CAI nor a dual exhaust does much more than change exhaust notes. I guess I can equate the difference to what I would have thought a CAI and dual exhaust would've given just based on the claims from both of those companies. My throttle response was much tighter and the Jeep just seemed to run better overall. There was a noticeable difference right away. I was running Shell 87 Octane E10 gas at the time so I thought I would start with the 87 tune and run it until that tank was empty. I started with the basic calibration-type stuff before I got into what I was really after.the TUNES!!!! ![]() He overnighted me the new ECM and I was able to get it installed and tested right away. Working with the tech over the phone, we were able to upgrade my Flashcal 3570 to the full Flashpaq tuner, which essentially turned the device into a 3873. We starting chatting about the '15 and that they were working on a way to get the tuner launched and he asked if I would be interested in doing some testing. The guy was wearing a Superchips hat and shirt, so I put two and two together and introduced myself. ![]() Knowing there was no way my wife would allow me to invest in either a Hemi swap or even a supercharger, it was up to me to find a less expensive way of getting that extra power I needed.Īs luck would have it, I ran into the local Superchips rep at a car wash here in Parker, CO one day. Those additions really didn't give me much in terms of throttle response or "pull", so I started looking at other options. I already installed the black Gibson dual exhaust and the AEM dryflow air filter trying to get that extra little bit of power I really wanted. This time I ordered the max tow group which gave me 3.73 gears. However, I knew I was looking for a few extra horsepower since lifting my JKU Sport manual with an AEV 2.5xt and setting it on 35" Trail Grapps. When I heard the ECM was locked down and would require actually removing it and sending to Superchips to "repro" it, I was a bit skeptical, to say the least. I originally purchased a flashcal, as the Flashpaq was not available for the 2015's at the time. I loved the power of that thing but I felt like I was driving my Grandfather's car. I installed a dual exhaust and a CAI, hoping I could squeeze out any possible HP gain I could but it just never was a strong runner and I wound up trading it in on a 2012 JGC Limited with a 5.7 Hemi. That thing looked great but took some real finesse to drive, especially with that lethargic 3.8 litre. My last JKU was a 2010 manual with 3.21 gears and a 3" OME lift on 35" Mud Grapps. ![]() First, a little history, and a bit of learning for me. I just wanted to take a few minutes to do a quick write-up as I have had the awesome opportunity to take part in the beta program for the Flashcal/Flashpaq upgrade this spring/summer for the 2015 JKU. ![]()
